Common Name Rabe's Stelis [Orchid Collector in Venezuela 1900's]
Flower Size .06" [1.5 mm]
Found in northwestern Venezuela in cloud forests at elevations around 1900 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped by 2, close fitting tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly linear, subobtuse, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms on an erect, distichous, densely, 2.4" [6 cm] long including the .6" [1.5 cm] long peduncle, mostly simultaneously many flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe with thin, pale green, short, widely inflated, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying small, greenish, glabrous flowers.
