Common Name Weberbauer's Stelis [German Botanist 1900's]

Flower Size

Found in Huancabamba department of Peru in montane forests at elevations around 2500 meters as a medium sized, cold growing, desnely caespitose epiphyte with an erect, stout ramicaul enveloped by 3, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly elliptical-oblong, subobtuse, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms on 2 to 6, arising from an acute spathe annulus below the apex of the ramicaul, erect, very slightly flexuous, subsecund laxly, to 4.4" [to 11 cm] long including the .4 " [1 cm] long peduncle, simultaneously many flowered inflorescence with cucullate, acuminate, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying small, greenish yellow, nodding flowers.
