Found in Peru in tropical and cool wet forests at elevations of 280 to 1830 meters as a small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with a loose fan of several, elliptic-lanceolate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the conduplicate, base leaves that blooms in the later winter on an axillary, to 2.4" [6 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with one bract.
