Found in Cusco and Ayacucho departments of Peru in cloud forests, open woods and hillsides at elevations around 750 to 2000 meters as a large sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with a stout glabrous below, densely tomentose above stem with 4, crowded, near the base, ovate to elliptic-oblong, basally to oblong-lanceolate above, abruptly acute to shortly acuminate, narrowing below into a sheathing base leaves that blooms in the fall and winter on a terminal, erect, peduncle 18.8" [47 cm] long, rachis elongate-cylindric, 10.8" [27 cm] long, subdensely many flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, long acuminate, densely tomentulose, slightly shorter than the flower floral bracts carrying small, subfleshy, green or greenish white flowers with the lower part of the sepals tubular-concave and the apex reflexed.
