Found in Peru in wet montane forests on small trees at elevations around 800 to 2100 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a stem enveloped completely by distichous, imbricating, leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying elliptic to obovate-oblong, acute, conduplicate below into the petiolate base leaves and blooms in the spring and early summer on a short, ascending, axillary inflorescence with a single, thin textured flower.
