Found in Peru as a miniature sized, cool to warm growing epiphyte at 1800 meters in cool wet, deeply shaded montane rainforests with a fan-shaped growth having obovate, rounded, carinate, conduplicate, petiolate leaves that are articulated to the imbricating leaf sheaths that blooms on a short, 2 2/5" [6 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with a single, basal, lanceolate, close bract carrying a single campanulate flower held below the leaves occuring in nature in the summer and fall
