Common Name The Lax Flowered Stenoptera

Flower Size 3/4" [1.8 cm]

Found in Huanuco department of Peru in higher tropical forests at elevations of 800 to 1100 meters as a large sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with an erect, stout, finely tomentose, densely leaved above stem carrying imbricationg towards the base, gradually smaller above grading into bracts, oblong-lanceolate to elliptic-lanceolate, acuminate, gradually narrowing below into the clasping base leaves that blooms on a erect, peduncle elongate, to 12" [30 cm] long, provided with numerous, close, tubular sheathing bracts, rachis to 10.6" [27 cm] long, tomentose, narrowly cylindrical, loosely many flowered inflorescence longer than the densely tomentose ovary floral bracts and carrying small, white flowers with a yellow center and with externally tomentose sepals
