Found on Palawan Island in the Philippines in closed canopy upper montane forest or in ultramafic rubble in open summit scrub, sheltered by large boulders at elevations of 1400 to 1700 meters as a miniature to small sized, cool growing terrestrial with sub-globose, pale brown tubers giving rise to an erect, terete, glabrous stem carrying a single, cordate, base auriculate to wholly perfoliate, glabrous, green, margin sometimes minutely fimbriate leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, terete, peduncle 2.6 to 5" [6.5 to 12.5 cm] long, rachis .48 to 1.64" [1.2 to 4.1 cm] long, successively 1 to 3 flowered inflorescence with cordate, sessile to perfoliate, acuminate floral bracts and carrying outward facing, resupinate, transluscent flowers.
