Found in Zaire, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania and Malawi in cloud forests in deep moss at elevations around 2700 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with a creeping rhizome giving rise to inconspicuous, cylindrical pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, elliptical, rounded apiocally, gradually narrowing below intot he petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on a short, single flowered inflroescence holding the brown maroon to brick red fleshy flower below the leaf.
