Found in eastern Ecuador in wet montane forests at elevations around 450 to 580 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with an ovate, compressed pseudobulb enveloped by imbricating, distichous, leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying subterete, linear, narrowing towards the condupicate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall onan axillary, from the upper leaf sheaths, lateral, to 3.6" [9 cm] long, spicate, 3 to 7 flowered inflorescence .
