Found in Peru at elevations around 1700 to 2200 meters in light woodland as a large sized cool to cold terrestrial with tapering, conic, faintly ridged pseduobulbs without spines and carrying 3, plicate, drooping, lanceolate, leaves that blooms in the later spring on an erect, to 11.6" [29 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with 3 completely to almost completely sheathing bracts
