Found in Junin Peru at elevations around 1000 meters as a small sized, warm growing epiphyte with clustered, egg-shaped pseudobulb enveloped by 2 pairs of distichous, overlapping leaf braing sheaths and carrying a single, leathery, longitudinally conduplicate, oblong-lanceolate to elliptic-oblong, acute leaf that blooms in the spring on a basal, longer thaqn the leaf, to 10" [25 cm] long, rachis short, to 9 flowered inflorescence arising on a newly matured pseudobulb
