Common Name The Costa Rican Systeloglossum

Flower Size 3/4" [2 cm]

Found in Costa Rica and Panama in lowland tropical and premontane rainforests at elevations of 750 to 1300 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with elliptical to ovoid, smooth, laterally compressed psuedobulbs enveloped basally by 3 to 6, oblong-lanceolate, leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying a single, apical, oblong-lanceolate, thin, acute, conduplicate towards the base leaf that blooms at most any time of the year on an erect, lteral, paniculate, 12 to 14" [30 to 35 cm] long, successively flowering inflorescence with 1 to several, fractiflex, racemose branches with 1 to 2 flowersd open on each branch at any one time.
