Found in China, Japan, Korea, Ruyuku Islands, Taiwan, Assam, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Java, Sulawesi, Sumatra and New Guinea on tree trunks in montane forests at elevations of 185 to 1100 meters as a miniature sized, warm growing, leafless epiphyte and occasional lithophyte with slightly flattened roots of varying lengths with a minute stem that is leafless at flowering in the spring through early summer on a 1/2 to 2" [1.25 cm to 5 cm] long, slightly flexuous, many flowered inflorescence with triangular, shorter than the ovaries floral bracts.
CAUTION I am not sure of this determination, the first photo matches both Schlechter and J J Smith's drawings. See also Taeniophyllum sp Malaysia as it agrees very well with Seidenfaden's Orchids of Penninsular Malaysia and Singapore. The Second photo is different yet and I have no actual reference. USE WITH CAUTION!
