Found in New Guinea on trees in forests at elevations around 700 to 800 meters as a small sized, epiphyte without leaves that blooms in the late spring and fall on a thin, to 1.2" [3 cm] long, saw-shaped, subdensely several flowered inflorescence with small triangular floral bracts.

Schlechter stated that the flowers were golden yellow with a paler spur.
