Found in southcentral Taiwan in montane primary broadleaved forests at elevations of 600 to 1200 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with strongly flattened, spreading, creeping, fleshy roots giving rise in the spring through earlier fall to 1 to 3, suberect, slender, elongating, .8 to 5.6" [2 to 14 cm] long, successively single occasionally 2, 5 to 40 flowered inflorescence.
