Found in New Guinea on trees in montane forests at elevations around 200 meters as a medium sized, hot growing epiphyte without leaves that blooms in the fall on a thin, filiform, 4.8 to 8" [12 to 20 cm] long, laxly, successively, 10 to 20 flowered inflorescence with triangular, acute floral bracts.

Schlechter stated that the flowers are yellow and are the largest within the genus
