Common Name The Marianas Islands Taeniophyllum
Flower Size
Found in the Caroline and Marianas islands on tree trunks and branches at elevations below 200 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte without leaves but has elongate, chlorophyl bearing, flattened roots that give rise to a very short stem that blooms several times per year on a short, mostly single flowered inflorescence.
Separated from S plicata by the larger, more erect flowers, the shape of the lip, posture of the plant and the paucity of seed capsules easily differentiates this species.
