Found in New Guinea on trees at elevations around 600 meters as a warm growing epiphyte without leaves that blooms in the fall and early winter on a distichous inflorescence.

Schlechter stated that the flowers are sulphur pale yellow, darker towards the base and the lip is white with 7 longitudinal central stripes.
