Common Name The Horned Tainia

Found in central Vietnam in secondary broadleaved forests on very steep rocky slopes at elevations around 400 meters as a small sized, hot growing terrestrial orchid with brownish to olive, sometimes with a purplish tint, glabrous, obliquely ovate to narrowly ovate pseudobulbs carrying a single, ovate, round to cordate basally, apiculate, thin, plicate, flinely undulate to striaght along the margin, 8 to 10 nerved, sessile base leaf that blooms in the later spring on an erect, basal, peduncle with basally 2 to 4, light yellowish, ovate to lanceolate, sterile bracts, 8 to 14" [20 to 35 cm] long overall, rachis glaucous, 1.2 to 1.6" [3 to 4 cm] long, 1 to 5 flowered inflorescence carrying simultaneously opening flowers that are 1 to 1.6" apart.
