Found in the New Guinea and the Solomon Islands at elevations around 450 to 800 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with a decumbent rhizome giving rise to petioliform, terete, glabrous, slightly tapering towards the apex pseudobulbs carrying a single, broadly cordate-ovate, acuminate, glabrous leaf that blooms in the fall and winter on an erect, basally thick, terete, glabrous, to 7.2" [18 cm] long, rachis to 2" [5 cm] long, subsecund, laxly few [2 to 5] flowered inflorescence with narrowly lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts.
