Found in Tungurahua provinjce of Ecuador in the Puro Reserve in montane cloud forests at elevations around 3600 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with ascending, stout ramicauls enclosed by 1 or 2 imbricating sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, thickly coriaceous, reticulate-veined, petiolate, elliptical, obtuse, the base cuneate into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the later spring from near the apex of the ramicaul on an erect, peduncle .8 to 1.8" [2 to 4.5 cm] long, rachis 5 to 7 cm] long, successively 1 to 2, distantly to 11 flowered inflorescence with oblique, acute, thin, longer to just shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.
