Found in Huancavelica department of Peru in wet cloudforests at elevations around 3400 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with a short stem carrying lanceolate, acuminate, light green, articulated to the conduplicate sheath leaves that blooms in the late fall on an erect, racemose, shorter than the leaves, peduncle triangular in cross-section, dialated towards the apex, with one small clasping bract near the base, successively single, few flowered inflorescence with larger, ovate-lanceolate, carinate, acute floral bracts and carrying a shallowly concave, large flower with semi-transluscent yellow sepals with 3 brown veins, cream yellow in the basal third petals darker above with 9 brown veins and sparse scattered cross veins in the basal 1/4, the lip is off white in the basal 1/4 graduating to vivid yellow at the apex with 15 brown veins and more or less one very short vein at the outer margin without cross veins, the callus red purple with purple spots in front, the column dull pale green ventrally with minute purple streaks and the anther is dark yellow.
