Found in southern Ecuador and Peru in grassy scrub cloud forests at elevations around 3200 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with a creeping, branching toewards the apex stem carrying distichous, evenly spaced, short, fleshy, conduplicate into the basally clasping leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a terminal, erect, elongate, terete, wingless inflorescence carrying successively few, single flowered inflorescence
