Found in Costa Rica in cloud forests on very thin branches at elevations above 1400 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with ephemeral leaves not present at blooming that blooms in the spring on a simple to 1 to 2 branched, successively few flowered, to 6" [15 cm] long inflorescence,
