Found in southwestern Ecuador and northwestern Peru in montane cloud forests at elevations around 2000 to 2200 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with oblong, flattened, ventral edge sharp, dorsal obtuse pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, oblanceolate to narrowly obovate, acute, apiculate, narrowing below into the articulated sheath junction leaf that blooms in the late spring through summer on a terminal or lateral, compressed, 3-winged, to 6" [to 15 cm] long, successively few flowered inflorescence.
