Found in Piura department of Peru in cold damp cloud forests at elevations around 3150 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with short stem enveloped by imbricating leaf sheaths and carrying 4 to 5, coriaceous, oblong-elliptic, acute, gradually narrowing into the conduplicate, subpetiolate base leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an axillary, short-pedunculate, compressed, to 3.8" [9.5 cm] long, successively 3 to 4 flowered inflorescence with ovate, acute-acuminate floral bracts.
