Found in Mexico and Nicaragua in wet montane forests on fallen trees at elevations around 1100 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with a slender stem enveloped by leaf sheaths carrying deciduous, linear-lanceolate, acute, narrowing below into the base leaves that blooms in the winter on terminal, simple, winged, 2.4" [6 cm] long, successively few flowered inflorescence with inflated acuminate bracts and obtuse floral bracts.
