Common Name Humboldt's Telipogon [German Counsel and Botanist 1800's]

Flower Size .88 to 1.28" [2.2 to 3.1 cm]

Found in northeastern Azuay province of Ecuador in cloud forests on branches of small trees at elevations around 3000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing, caespitose epiphyte with a pseudobulbous stem enveloped by 5 leaf bases carrying fleshy, lanceolate, acute, imbricating, becoming progressively larger from the base leaves that blooms in the spring and summer on a triquetrous, axillary, 2" [5 cm] long, arising through a papyraceous, acuminate bract, successively 1 to 2, to 6 flowered inflorescence with a conduplicate floral bract.
