Found in Peru in wet, cold cloud forests at elevations of 2500 to 3000 meters as a miniature sized cold growing epiphyte with branching stems carrying 3 to 5 imbricating, conduplicate sheaths with the uppermost leafbearing, articulated to the single oblancolate, acute to obtuse, fleshy, mid vein carinate leaf that blooms at any time of the year on and axillary, elongating, flattened above, successively 5 to 7 flowered inflorescence with an ovate-triangular bract.
I am not convinced of this determination and await more references. Differs from Icones in having vertical and lateral stripes
