Found in the sanctuary of Machu Picch Peru near Cusco at elevations around 3400 meters as a medium sized, cold growing, scramblingf terrestrial with a leafy throughout, rooting towards the base stem carrying elliptic-ovate, acute leaves taht blooms in the late spring on slender, erect, terete, peduncle 3.6 to 4" [9 to 10 cm] long, provided with 2 to 3 triangular basally clasping bracts, peduncle and rachis 6 to 10" [15 to 25 cm] long overall, 4 to 5 flowered inflorescence with ovate, acute, much shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.
