Found in central Ecuador in montane cloud forests at elevations around 1500 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with an erect, short stem enveloped by imbricate leaf sheaths carrying 3 to 5, deciduous, narrowly ovate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the base leaves that blooms in the late fall and winter on an erect, terminal, flattened, to 5.6" [14 cm] long, successively single, several flowered, racemose inflorescence with 3 to 4 remote bracts.
