Found in Ecuador and Peru? in wet montane cloud forests at elevations of 2400 to 2800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with a short, erect stem enveloped by imbricate leaf bases carrying 3 to 5, obovate, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the conduplicate base leaves that blooms in the fall through winter on a 3-winged, to 1.6" [4 cm] long, successively 3 to 5 flowered inflorescence with boat-shaped floral bracts.
