Found in Bolivia in wet montane cloud forests at elevations around 1000 to 1200 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with a short, erect stem enveloped by imbricate, distichous foliaceous sheaths carrying 5 to 9, fleshy, not deciduous, distichous, narrowly ovate, acuminate, violet green leaves that blooms in the late winter on an axillary, branched, terete, 4" [10 cm] long, successively single [on each branch] many flowered inflorescence with approximate, triangular floral bracts.
