Found in Loja province of Ecuador at elevations around 2700 to 3100 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with a short stem enveloped completely by imbricating foliaceous sheaths, branching from the base giving rise to inconspicuopus, flattened pseudobulbs and carrying a single, apical, narrowly obovate, acute, apiculate, narrowing towards the clasping-distichous base leaf that blooms on a lateral from the axils of the upper sheaths, peduncle flattened, 2 winged, to 3.8" [9 cm] long, to 6" [15 cm] long overall, successively single, few flowered inflorescence with ovate, conduplicate, strongly carinate floral bracts.
