Common Name The Tungurahu Telipogon [A province of Ecuador]
Flower Size .75" [1.75 cm]
Found in Tunguahua province of Ecuador at elevations around 2200 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with a stem enveloped completely by imbricate, distichous leaf sheaths carrying coriaceous, narrowly oblong-obovate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the conduplicate base, non-articulate leaves that blooms in the late summer and early fall on a terminal or lateral from the lateral leaves near the apex of the stem, to 4" [10 cm] long, peduncle to 2.4" [6 cm] long, terete, successively single, few flowered inflorescence with boat-shaped, ovate, keeled on the back, much shorter than the pedicel floral bracts and carrying flowers with green-brown sepals, brown petals and the lip and spines brown.
