Found in Huanuco Peru in upper montane cloud forests on steep slopes in sphagnum banks or in the bushes on them at elevations around 2750 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte or terrestrial with caespitose stems enveloped by imbricate, leaf sheaths carrying coriaceous, lanceolate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the base leaves that blooms at most any time of the year on a lateral, axillary, longer than the leaf, to 3" [to 7.5 cm] long, racemose, successively 1 to 2, 5 to 10 flowered inflorescence.
