Found in north central Ecuador in Pichincha province in extremely wet montane, cloud forests at elevations around 600 meters as a miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with ovoid to globose pseudobulbs enveloped basally by papery sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, plicate, obviously veined, lanceoalte, acute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall through winter on a basal, erect, 1" [2.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence
