Found in Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Colombia and Ecuador in lowland tropical rainforests at elevations around 450 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with pyriform pseudobulbs carrying 1 to 2, plicate, narrowly elliptic to lanceolate leaves that blooms in the fall on a basal, 1.2" [3 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence
