Common Name Black Hooded Sun Orchid

Flower Size .8" [2 cm]

Found in New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania Australia at elevations of 5 to 200 meters in heathy forests often on the fringes of grasstree plains as a medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with a single leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, 12 to 20" [30 to 50 cm] long, 2 to 8 flowered inflorescence with usually 2 sterile bracts.
