Common Name The Rush-leaf Sun Orchid - The Brilliant Sun Orchid

Flower Size 1 to 1 2/5" [2.5 to 3.5 cm]

Found in Victoria and possibly in South Australia at elevations of 150 to 250 meters in open forests in hilly districts as a small to medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial orchid with a slender, purplish stem with 1 to 2, closely sheathing bracts carrying a single, dark green, lanceolate to linear, widest at the base narrowing towards the apex, sometimes very narrowly linear, channeled, the margins inflexed, contracted below into the tubular sheathing base leaf that blooms in the late winter and spring in Australia on an erect, to 12" [30 cm] tall, 1 to 3 flowered inflorescence.

A natural hybrid between T. × macmillanii × T. nuda
