Common Name Macmillan's Thelymitra - The Crimson Sun Orchid
Flower Size .8 to 1.6" [2 to 4 cm]
Found in South Australia to southwestern Victoria Australia as a cold growing terrestrial with a slender, wiry, flexuos stem carrying a single, erect, narrowly linear, channeled leaf that blooms in the late winter and early spring in situ on an erect, zig-zagged, often reddish, 1 to 6 flowered inflorescence carrying very color variable flowers.
This orchid is a natural hybrid between T. antennifera × T. nuda.
