Found in southwest Western Australia at elevations of 50 to 150 meters in open forests, woodlands and shrublands as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a slender stem carrying a single, broad based, usually lobed, spirally twisted leaf that encircles the flower stem and blooms in the winter on an erect, 8 to 14" [30 to 80 cm] long, wiry, single flowered inflorescence.
