Found in S. New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia at elevations of 100 to 900 meters in grasslands, open grassy woodlands, open forests and mallee shrublands as a small to medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with a single leaf that blooms in the late winter and spring on an erect, 8 to 24" [10 to 60 cm] long, 2 to 15 flowered inflorescence with 2 sterile bracts with often scented flowers
