Common Name or Meaning The Small Flowered Thelasis

Found in Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Java, Sumatra, Borneo, Moluccas, New Guinea and the Philippines in lowland, hill and lower montane forests at elevations of 200 to 1600 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with laterally flattened, oval, green, fleshy pseudobulbs envloped completely by basal leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying a single apical, erct, narrowly lanceolate, apically uneven, basally conduplicate and clasping leaf that blooms in the winter on an axillary, arising from the lower sheaths, brown, erect, 6" [15 cm] long, rhachis bent downwards and very short inflorescence carrying many scarcely opening, simultaneous, 10 to 12 flowers clustered together at the apex
