Found in western Sumatra at elevations around 1300 meters as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with a very short rhizome giving rise to oblong, laterally flattened pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, strap shaped, bilobed apically, glabrous leaf that blooms on an erect, eventually extending well beyond the leaf, thin, terete, glabrous, to 18" [45 cm] long, successively many flowered inflorescence with ovate, acuminate sheaths
