Common Name Sargent's Thelymitra [Australian Discoverer of Species 1900's] - The Freckled Sun Orchid

Flower Size 1 1/2" [3.75 cm]

Found in Western Australia at elevations of 20 to 350 meters among low shrubs in sandplain vegetation or shrubby forests as a small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with an elongated stem with 2 to 3 cauline, subulate to acuminate, basally vaginate bractscarrying a single, apical, thick, fleshy, lanceolate, acuminate, basally sheathing leaf and blooms in the spring on a terminal, racemose, erect, 20" [50 cm] long, rachis [9 to 14 cm] long, few to many [5 to 17] flowered inflorescence with long-lasting flowers
