Flower Size 1.4 to 1.6" [3.5 to 4 cm] long

Found in Sabah Borneo in upper montane forets at elevations of 1800 to 2000 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with an erect, monopodial stem carrying 5 to 6, ligulate, acute, coriaceous, olive-green, purple flushed leaves with cylindrical tightly clasping sheath bases that blooms in the late spring on a lateral, from the nodes of the basal part of the stem, erect, to horizontal, peduncle to 8" [20 cm] long, wiry, purple, 2 ovate, acute basal bracts, rachis to 6.8" [17 cm] long, purple below becoming pale green distally, successively 1 to 3, several flowered inflorescence with ovate, acute, purple floral bracts.
