Common Name The Short Bracted Thrixspermum

Found in penninsular Malaysia and Sumatra in montane forests at elevations around 1600 to 2200 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with a sometimes branching, rigid stem carrying short, oblong to strap-shaped, more or less equally and obtusely bilobed apically, reddish and shiny, narrowing below into the tubular sheathed leaves that blooms in the winter and spring on 2 to 3, superposed, 3.2 to 4" [8 to 10 cm] long, longer than the leaves, zig-zagged, quadrangular, laxly successively many flowered inflorescence with three, short, tubular bracts and alternating in 2 rows, short, somewhat clasping the rachis, triangular floral bracts.
