Found in New Guinea in forests at elevations of 800 meters as a miniature to small sized, warm growing epiphyte with a slightly compressed, densely leafy stem carrying erect-spreading, obliquely oblong-ligulate, acute, unequally and obtusely bilobed apically, narrowing below into the base leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a very flattened, serrate, shortly pedunculate, 4.8" [12 cm] long, successively single, few m flowered inflorescence with conduplicate, obtuse, half as long as the ovary floral bracts.

Schlechter states that the flowers are pale yellowish and the lip has a red spot at the base.
